Mineral Smackdown

As some may know from reading my post I have been feeding Sweetlix meat maker minerals, baking soda and separate salt all the time, and 2-3 days a week my herd gets Onyx cattle minerals. For a while now I have noticed that I have had to waste more of

Thanks to an idea put forth on this list by Rachel Whetzel (thanks Rachel!) I soaked some raisins overnight, then put them in the chopper, added the individual doses of COWP and voila...5 out of 7 goats ate it up. I had tried molasses before with ver

Has anyone ever used frontline on their goats and if so, what dose and how did it go for you?

I am asking because I DID--I used it for lice, I used a large dog (89 lb) size.  One doe has had no side effects. .the other doe is losing her hair.  :(

So I know that little seperate berries is what you want. And log's are bad. But what about

Ants

I have ants in the barn.  I found them in the grain feeders this morning and on Fitz.  In south MS we have fire ants and I'm not crazy about them biting my goats.  I bought some food grade DE today and sprinkled it around the perimeter of the barn an

Urinary stones in weathers?

I rarely catch my goats peeing, especially boys... it's funny because I sort of get excited when I see them doing it because it gives me a chance to look at their stance...since its so hard to get them like that otherwise...

So today I stopped and

Clumpy poop

I know I've read somewhere that this is not a good sign, but I can't remember what it means.  The buckling has had the occasional clumpy poops but most of them were normal pellets.  Today I saw him poop out  formed "turd" if you know what I mean, and

Anemia?

Hi guys...

I discovered what's the matter with my poor little goats, why they wouldn't go out and forage in their pasture.  After sitting with them a few afternoons I realized that each time they head out they get swarmed by fire ants and so they j
