Thanks to an idea put forth on this list by Rachel Whetzel (thanks Rachel!) I soaked some raisins overnight, then put them in the chopper, added the individual doses of COWP and voila...5 out of 7 goats ate it up. I had tried molasses before with very limited success. The 5 who ate it were the 5 Nigies. The LaManchas acted like it was poison. So now my husband (and I) want to know-can you use peanut butter? As in, mix the COWP into it and stick it on the roof of their mouth? The munchies also appear to dislike molasses. And I hate the idea of feeding marshmallows (ingredients aside, I have just always thought they were icky). I'd also prefer not to over-traumatize these skittish babies by shoving a pill down their throats, if I can avoid it. Suggestions?

I just put a couple tablespoons of their regular grain in a pan and top dress the COWP on the grain. If they don't eat it all, I sprinkle a little more grain on the COWP that's left, which sort of forces them to lick up the grain, and they get it. This works with all of my goats. I don't think the COWP has any particular taste, so I don't think they even notice it until (maybe) when they're crunching it, but they don't seem to care. It may not work as well for kids if they aren't that excited about grain yet. If they're already grain hogs, then it works with them too.
