Tiny doe

One of my does, at 18 months old, is still really small. Probably 75 % the size of the other grown does and maybe 40 lbs. Is this it for her or will she continue to grow? Will it be safe to breed her to a "normal"-sized buck? Is it likely that all he

Registration

I have looked through the ADGA website and cannot find the answer to this question: if a doe is ADGA registered but the buck is AGS and NDGA, can the offspring be registered ADGA? And what, exactly, is the tattoo for? ID, yes...but we register dogs a

Uber Special Goat House

Well, as you may know, after I return from riding camp, I will be going to pick up my buckling and my doeling. I am super excited!

This sunday, we are going to pick up a huge cedar play house. But it's for the goats, you see.

Urinary stones in weathers?

I rarely catch my goats peeing, especially boys... it's funny because I sort of get excited when I see them doing it because it gives me a chance to look at their stance...since its so hard to get them like that otherwise...

Pregnancy test?

Is there such a thing as a pregnancy test for a nigerian?  I know I had a horse ultrasounded to be sure she was pregnant.

When we bring home the new doeling (2 months from now or so)  Our adult doe will have been pastured with the buckling from 2 m

Clumpy poop

I know I've read somewhere that this is not a good sign, but I can't remember what it means.  The buckling has had the occasional clumpy poops but most of them were normal pellets.  Today I saw him poop out  formed "turd" if you know what I mean, and

Growing hay?

Does anyone know any good resources for getting started growing your own hay?

I have to say that I am SO tired of paying $6-$10 a bale for crappy brown hay...so we have been discussing the possibility of growing some of our own. We don't have a lot

Ride needed!

My new Nigerian buckling needs to hitch a ride from the Portland, OR area to the Spokane, WA area, or even somewhere in between.  If anyone plans to make that trip and could bring him along, I will help with your gas expenses.  Something to consider:
