Horse Riding!!

Had a fun day today. One of my friends that lives about 7-8 miles away from me called me at 10:30 this morning and asked me if I wanted to ride my horse to her house. So I called my mom but my parents were out fishing and had no cell service so I called my sister and she said I could go of I wanted to!! So I left and my friends Claire and Bri met me half way on their horses and we rode back to her house!! I got to see all their sheep and lambs!! They were soo cute!! But anyways...we rode the horses out in the field and jumped ditches and ran through water and had a blast!! (We were bareback the whole time too!!) Then we rode back to the house and to the pond. Claire told me they had never swam in the pond before but then she was like...shall we give it a try? I was like YEAH!! lol iv never swam a horse but have always wanted to!! So we ran up to the house and changed into shorts and went back down there to the pond. My horse was the only one that would go in the creek so they wanted me to go first!! Haha I was honestly scared cause the pond looked deep!! I did it though!! It was soo much fun!! I think my horse loved it too...it was really hot here today!! Claire and Bri couldnt get their horses in so first Claire and I swaped horses and I worked and worked with her horse and finally got him in the water!! My legs were sooo tired by the time I finally got him in there!! Then Claire wanted to get back on him and take him in there but he totally refused with her!! He would go in the creek with her but not the pond!! They were getting tired anyways and I needed to start getting home before it got too late!! Claire and Bri rode half way with me on the way home and then they turned around and went home and I headed home!! I got home at 6. It was a very long but very fun day. My first experience swimming a horse was awesome!! Im glad I FINALLY  got to do it!! Were thinking were gonna try for next weekend again!! :-) Cant wait!!

  • I have ridin horses since I cant even remember and my mom has got her rules!! Lol A few of them are no riding down the road unless an adult knows (my sister is 20) and my grandma also knew, if I do go down the road and tell an adult I also have to tell them where im going and what horse I am riding, and who I am going to be riding with, no jumping when im home alone, no running if im home alone, (escpecially if I have friends over and home alone), no loping down the road, stay off the road as much as possible, ride bareback (which I do anyways unless im on a green horse) so then I dont get caught in anything, there are more...those are just a few!! Lol The horse I was riding yesterday is the horse iv been riding since I was about 6 and I used to ride her in the ditches at my old house. And the people that had her before me were some friends of ours and they used to swim with her in there pond all the time. The horse's name is Sugar!! Sugar is the one iv been riding the most out of all 11 horses iv got because I will be working cows on her all summer this year!! My mom feels most comfertable if I ride Sugar or my other horse iv had since she was 4 months old and I was 2 years old...her name is Bunny!! But also where I went and rode...Claire's parents watch us very closely. They will come out and check on us alot and dont allow us to ride in saddles which is totally fine with me!! Lol And the pond is right next to the house so her mom watched us from inside and all three horses we were riding are amazing horses that arnt young unexperienced horses. Weve got our rules and us girls are pretty good at sticking with them!! :-) Next time we go we are gonna try and get some pics and I will post them if I do!! Actually this weekend we are going to get matching clothes to wear, yellow and white bathing suits, yellow and white tang tops, yellow and white shorts, and yellow and white flip flops!! My dad told me that we are gonna be the bannas walking down the road on our ponies!! :-) lol im looking forward to this summer!! Should be a blast!!

  • You better be very careful young lady (as a mom I get to say that, even if I'm not your mom!)!

Now that said, I am so thrilled that you got to swim your horse and I can tell you are super happy about it. I have not had the opportunity to do that yet but it is on my bucket list!

I personally am very glad that you did share this with us, even though you didn't swim your goats (lol!), I think it is sweet that you shared this with your friends on here. I doubt I am the only one who would like to do this, but have not YET!

I can think of many lessons some of us older folks can learn from this story! I won't even get into it, but if people read between the lines they will think of what is missing in so many youngsters lives these days that cause them to get involved in the wrong things!

Thank you for sharing YOUR JOY with us sweetheart and seriously, you really should talk to the grown ups before you go back and make sure they know your plans. If I were your mom, I think I would rather go too, until the horses got use to it! It really could get dangerous!
