I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have a goat that has both knee's all banged up. The fur is gone and he's constantly reopening the scabs. Is their something I can use to wrap his knee with or some other type of remedy ? I keep washing it with warm water and then he's fine for a little while, then he hit's it on something and does it all over again.. Help

Thanks everyone for the help, I stopped at Tractor Supply and picked up some Vetericyn Spray and the Vet Flex Bandage.
So far so good. He's all tucked in for the night. I very much appreciate all the help this site has to offer. Thanks so much .
Another possibility for a "salve"-type product is unpasteurized honey. My vet actually told me to use it on a deep gash on my dog's foot, then a gauze pad, and then the vet wrap like Rachel suggested. I didn't notice the wound right away so it was too late for stitches, but it healed really well with the honey and bandage. Honey, however, might be very tasty to a goat:-)
Spray Vetericyn on it a few times a day--totally nontoxic and wounds, burns, infections and skin problems heal SO much faster! It's pricey but so worth it if you have animals. I could go on and on about how well it's worked on animals (and people!) on the ranch.
Goats don't really "eat" everything... they might taste it, but they won't like it and eat it.
Thank you so much Rachel, I will get some and try it out. One more ( silly ) question, the goats won't eat that I hope ?
None of my goats have fur on their knees, so I don't think that's unusual, but it is not normal as far as I know for them to break open. I would clean them like you have, and maybe use the wrap used on horses to keep him from damaging them while their healing. I would also try to figure out what he's hitting them on? This is the stuff I'm talking about wrapping with: http://www.sstack.com/equine-wraps-equine-bandages/Dura-Tech-Vet-Fl...
