Woman who stare at goats.

This didn't seem to fit in anywhere... I just have to say, I think I've been watching too much goat lately... lol I don't know which end it up anymore, and I'm totally over watching and over thinking. That is all. Just thought I'd share. lol

  • I feel you there. But I think it works on the other end of the spectrum too...It's ridiculous how hot it is right now, and so I get up early and spend the first and last hour or so of daylight, and sometimes beyond...Last night after dark we had to go to walmart for a window unit and catcher had knocked over his water, but in walking past the doe pen everyone wanted some love....so 3 minute chore turned into a " I love my goaties!...and you're cute, and you're cute...and you're a good girl..."15 minutes, and David just standing there..."can we go now?"...I figured it was already 90+ in the house and not far off outside, I was already sweating like a pig, I might as well love on everybody while I was out there...:)

Mine are my best friends.  I get pawed at, nibbled on, jumped over and bumped.  They have 2 hay bales to lay on and I sit on one and watch them eat, talk to them, scratch them and watch the kid become a teenager willing to challenge the adults.  I have followed after them with an empty yogurt cup to catch a stool specimen - and that is street side I might add.  I didnt get goats to put them in a pen and just see them at feeding time - in the winter I enjoy my time sitting in the barn checking them out - but when it's cold - I find them a little less entertaining. LOL

  • I was laughing so hard, because everything everyone said is so true!! My husband came home from work one night and he couldn't get in the house and came around back to me sitting on the ground with 3 little goats sound to sleep in my arms.  He asks "what are you doing" I say, "they looked so peaceful sleeping, that I didn't want to disturb them".  This was like 9 o'clock at night!! He just laughed and walked off!! They are just the perfect therapy after a LONG day of running my daycare....
  • lol Love it, Mary!!

  • I know this is an old post but I just wanted to say it made me feel so much better (and somewhat normal). I actually keep a patio chair by the goat pen. I work from home and many times when I have morning meetings I will go sit by the goat pen, especially when the kids are being noisy. They are my 'co-workers', LOL.
  • HAHAHA That made me laugh for the first time today!

  • I do the same thing... The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is look out the window to get a glimps of everyone alive... (2 goats died this year) I check on them about every 2 hours even if I don't go out and do things. And If I am ever not here the sitter knows I will be calling twice a day. I have had so much go wrong this year I over worry I think.
  • lol YES.
