Hi all you dear goat friends! :)
I thought I'd share a quick bit of what's going on here, and keeping me away from the computer and this group. Suffice it to say, I MISS YOU ALL!
In August my sister in law was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Within two days she was on chemo, and by the day after my 41st birthday, August 21st, I was the full time caretaker of her 4 year old daughter and 9 month old twins. They joined my four children, so now I'm a homeschooling mom/caretaker of 7 children.
It has been a real ride, for sure. I wish I had more time to share what amazing things have happened that have kept me going, hoping and trusting in God through this whole thing...like the Club Wagon van that was given to us to haul a family of 9 aroiund in, and all the meals that people have provided. I love my community!
Even with all the lovely people who have stepped in to share this burden, it has been a big adjustment. There have been times I've thought I should really re-home my herd, because I don't have the time or the heart for them sometimes. However, something always happens that gets me through and keeps me going.
I just wanted to share what's been going on, and ask you all to keep my family and my SIL and her family in prayer. One day, I'll be back asking and maybe answering a few questions. For now, I'll be checking in to read a thing or two on here when I can.
Patty

Thanks so much for the prayers and well wishes. :) Rachel and Deborah, I know that you and your families have had some hard times and tough losses recently as well. I'm wishing you the best, and praying for you both as well. Hugs! :)
Wow! Sending you a big hug and lots of prayers! Hope your sister recovers. If only her children were a little older, they could be a big help with the goats. I can't imagine the type of adjustment you must have had to take on a set of 9-month-old twins and a four year old. Wow!
I'll keep you and your family in my prayers!! It's been a crazy year here too. Lost two family members... but I didn't add any children to my mix! Take care of yourself!!
Aw Patty, I for one have really missed you! You are such an amazing woman taking on such a huge challenge and still managing to keep your goats too! I admire your strength and courage. My prayers are with you and your extended family!
