Hi everyone!

I wanted to let you know that I'm going to start doing homesteading webinars! People have been asking me to do them for years, and I finally decided that I'm just going to do it! You all know that I'm passionate about sustainable living -- and especially goats. I've spent a lot of time thinking about how I can get this information out to more people, and for 2015 I've decided to severely restrict my travel schedule and spend my time on writing and webinars. Although I might reach a few hundred people when I speak at a conference, it usually means that I've taken several days away from the farm, which means that I can't do it very often. Also, you might not be able to travel to a conference, especially if you already have a homestead with animals to care for. By doing webinars, I'm hoping to be able to reach more people so that you will have the information you need to reach your homesteading goals.

The first webinar will be 8 p.m. Monday, February 2, and I'll be doing my Homesteading 101 talk, which I've done in many different parts of the U.S. And because I love this group so much, I'm offering you a discount. The regular price of the webinar is $19, but if you use the discount code "GoatFriends," you will get a $5 discount. (Be sure to not put a space between the two words, and capitalize the G and F.)

Click here for all of the details and for the link to register. There is also a link on that page where you can participate in a survey on what topics you would like to have covered in future webinars.

As always, if you have ideas on how I can help you get the information you need to succeed on your homestead, don't hesitate to let me know. I'm starting the webinars because people asked for them.

  • I didn't get in on this one, can I still register and see the recording? I'm also hoping you do a marketing one and the fiber animals one. I'm getting alpacas from a local farm that is letting their whole herd go to rescue because they don't care to market the animals and don't want to take them to the sale barn. I'm looking forward to it and would love more info on working with the fiber and marketing options for those of us who live out in the middle of nowhere.
  • Thank you.  I am looking forward to seeing it, especially since I've seen you present before!

(and looking forward to the next one)

  • It says the recording is processing. I think you should receive an email once it's done processing. When we did a practice run, that's what happened. If you don't get an email by tomorrow, let me know, and I'll figure it out.

  • How soon will we be able to access the link when we could not watch live.  I tried to log in to their site using the password I used to register; that didn't work so it must not have been the way.  (Good news for me is that Ginger is very likely bred so today's trip was worthwhile.)

    This is what I found:

I missed the meeting, can I view the recording?

We're sorry you missed a meeting!  You will need to contact the presenter of the meeting to inquire about a recording.  AnyMeeting is the software service they used and not your host.  Your presenter will be able to provide you with information about a recording being available to you.

  • Just posting a reminder that the webinar is tonight! Click on the link in the original post to register. Hope to "see" you there! :)
  • Yes, you can watch it afterwards multiple times. It will be recorded and in AnyMeeting's archives. I need to get an answer for this question. I assume they will be there forever, so my only question is if I stop paying for AnyMeeting's services after a few months or a year, will they still be available to those of you who paid for them. Seems like the answer should be yes, but I want to verify that.

  • My internet is really slow, and live feeds don't work well, so I have the same Q as Glenna. Is like to be able to access the videos even for must a week after a live broadcast.
  • Even better, when we register, we can re-watch it to catch what we missed or if we couldn't watch it at that time or, as Deborah put it, got interrupted because a kid was being born.  At least that is what I interpreted from reading the description and responses elsewhere.

  • This is a great idea!  I really look forward to sitting in on some of these.
