Triplet Baby Pics

Our first kids of the year were born 1/13. We won't have more until May (that's a long story), but these are being bottle raised so I have my hands full anyway! Unfortunately, we lost their dam a few short days after she kidded to gangrene mastitis that went septic. I blogged about her story here and here if you are interested. We are keeping the little doeling (the buckskin), but the two boys are available...hint hint. ;)

We put them in the red bucket to carry them to the house and carry them around while trying to save their mom, so don't worry...they are not living in the bucket.

  • I'm so sorry that you lost your doe. But she gave you three beautiful little gifts. God bless...

  • Thank you all! Her kids are definitely gorgeous, but I am a bit biased of course.

Deborah, thank you for sharing that!  I'm sorry you lost your doe, but it is good to know that I am not the only one who has been confused by it.

  • So sorry to hear about Coraline. We had a doe die from mastitis, and I was also super confused and thinking it was hypocalcemia at first. Her udder never felt hot or anything. It was only because I had a necropsy done that I knew what happened. Mastitis at freshening is a very strange thing -- not at all like the mastitis you see at other times.

  • So sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing your story.

  • I wish I lived closer... those boys look so pretty!!

  • I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. Wishing all the best with her beautiful babies.

  • So sorry you lost your doe.  I lost my favorite girl last year 3 days after she kidded.   I still cry over her lose.

  • So very sorry you lost your doe.  It is so difficult when these horrible things happen.  I am very happy for you that you have her little girl as well as the boys.  Congratulations on such beautiful kids.

  • Thank you, everyone! I'm thankful that she gave me a doeling, and the doeling looks so much like her, too, except that she has roaning.

  • So sorry you lost your doe! She sounded like a sweetie! The babies are adorable!!
