I agree with Rachel. Never heard of it; never done it myself. The reason I wether bucklings by two months is so they can stay with their mother and continue to get her milk and all of those wonderful antibodies.
I've not heard this, or seen it in practice... everyone I know that breeds leaves the wethers in with the does. It might have something to do with the age you wether at, though.
