I looked on line at some pics and it appears to be normal for the poop to be real messy and is the correct mustardy color, problem is mom does not seem to notice that they are getting it all over them! Or just doesn't care, or whatever. So when this happens do they usually stay that way or do they sometimes after a few days or so figure it out and clean them up? How old when the poop changes color and starts to look like berries? About a week?

Looking much better this morning! Thanks for the confidence boost girls. I was in the process of tracking me down some fresh goat milk for supplementing him this morning but within hours of cleaning them up yesterday (which went surprisingly well) he began to look and feel a little better and this morning I am not so sure he is not chubbier than his sister and they are both bouncing around all over the place. So for now I will just observe him. I also had a chance to see them both nurse good together and mom just sniffed his but. Maybe she didn't want that stinking, poopy thing by her! LOL!
Exactly Right ! I had looked at some pics and was pretty sure that it was ok for now. You know she has been so good that I can't believe she is not cleaning them. She really loves her little doe but doesn't seem to care so much for the buck. The little girl looks fine but he is a little thin. He is nursing but we are keeping an eye out for him because sometimes he will walk upto her and she walks off and she kicks GENTLY toward him occasionally, but doesn't hit him. It is as if she is holding up a hand and saying "not now". It looks almost like a person shaking there finger in a kids face. And she wants no part of milking. I was going to wait couple weeks because she has always become vicious if you get near her backend, but since she was so good during the birth and let me strip her teats and all without even acting like she noticed, I thought I would try to milk a little for Bob a bottle. Well ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE! I even tried to hobble her. didn't help she jumped allover the place kept laying down kicking at me and in general went crazy. She kicked her udder and scraped the skin off a spot about the size of a dime. Made me so mad because the last thing I wanted was her hurt. I put on some cream I had order for it in case I happened to need it. I think it is called MASTOCREAM something close to that anyway and I'll keep an eye on that but I don't plan to try milking her again for a while. That was an AWFUL SCENE. I wonder if I should try to find someone around here with fresh goat milk to give him a supplemental bottle with. I use to always use purina milk replacer but after reading all I have I would rather use actual goat milk. I also wonder if the milk replacer or canned goat milk from the store is better. I think maybe canned goat milk.
Ditto on everything Rachel said. If it's more liquidy like diarrhea, it could be that they're getting too much milk -- at least that's what a vet told me the first time it happened here -- but I've only had that happen twice, and it corrected itself within a couple days. It's usually the consistency of scrambled eggs but the color of yolks.
I just read something about this the other day... the advice was to clean it yourself, and keep an eye that their butts don't paste over, because this could cause them to be unable to poo. Not sure how long they have poop like this, but I would assume it's like breast fed human babies... their poop doesn't change until they start eating solids.
