My Cat Rowdy

So about 5 days ago my little grey calico was outside. That night she didnt come back to the house. Then the next day she didnt come back and so on. I was basically crying myself to sleep wondering where is she? Did she get killed? Well this morning I hear my mom say "Oh my gosh!! Its Rowdy!!......oh no she doesnt look good. I ran downstairs and her jaw looks totally busted its badly infected and she cant close it. She cant eat or drink and she is soooo skinny. My mom and dad are taking her to the vet. She is also pregnant. Her condition doesnt look good at all. I think were gonna have to put her down. I cant look at her without crying she talks to me and wants to be loved on...it just breaks my heart. This cat was given to me from my sister last year for my birthday. So it will be a year that iv had her on the 16th. Im feeling very overwhelmed. Im trying to figure out what happened to her. Many things could have happened. :'(

  • Glad Rowdy is doing better, so hard to lose a loved one.

Margaret, sorry for your loss. It's a horrible thing to go through, especially with a tragedy.

We lost our Siberian Husky in March, he was 15. In April our Lionhead bunny, Nibbly, passed away suddenly. A lot of people say they wouldn't get another animal because the pain of their loss is to much to bear. My personal opinion is that I wouldn't want to live without all the wonderful memories I have of those precious babies that I had in my life.

  • That is really good. We had a very sick puppy once and we fed him our fresh cows milk and he servived.

  • Cool Glenna, Thanks!

  • My elderly cat was *very* sick last year, so sick that I knew she was going to die nearly any hour.  She had not drank milk since a kitten but I decided to try some goat milk with her.  She drank it and slowly put her weight back on and within three months was outside playing and climbing in the trees again.  I truly believe that warm goat milk saved her life.  Once she started getting stronger, she would "ask" for it.  (And it is well worth the extra work on the litter box with her drinking milk.)

  • Shes looking quite comfortable right now!!

  • Thank you!!

  • Thank goodness she has you!

  • Sounds like a good idea! Apparently it is comforting to her!

  • Rowdy got some pain medication last night and this morning and thats all they wanted us to give her. Im thinkin that the medication has wore off. She looks a little sore tonight. :( She loves our old healer dog and before she got hurt she always slept with the dog on the dog bed and right now she is meowing like she is in some pain and she has a cat bed in the corner of her kennel. So I put the dog bed next to her kennel by that corner and the dog went and layed on it and Rowdy went and layed in her cat bed. She just fell asleep and looks more comfertable. I think I will leave the dog bed there for a while!! :-)

  • Here is little Rowdy and her companion goat!! :-)
