Mare stare...online video streaming!

Just in case anyone is interested. I just discovered that you can look up "cam list - mare stare" and click on their customers in a list and view their live streaming barn cams. So far I only know of one located at a goat farm and it is Pelican Acres NDs. But it is so cool! She keeps it set up over her presently kidding doe and we can all watch. I haven't seen a birth, but have seen 2 does with their newborns in the last few days. Both shortly after the births. Hoping to catch a birth soon. Had a single buckling last time, but has triplet bucklings on right now that are only a couple hours old. I so love this! Just thought some of you might enjoy this. I am also going to check on their fees for this, but I bet it's pretty steep!

  • I saw this post yesterday afternoon, so my kids and I went to the website.  Before bed last night we got to watch one of their goats give birth to twins! That was a lot of fun.  This fall we watched a baby giraffe be born at our local zoo.  This was really fun. Thanks for posting :0)

  • Wouldn't you know, I'd miss it again! I came over to the forum and went to the vote for goat FB wall and then back to mare stare and she had twins that I could see. So I am going back in case there is another one coming, but probably not knowing my luck.

  • Yea, I think that's great and I think I may catch the newest kidding this time. Beautiful doe named Josie is in the kidding pen now. Her pic is on my FB and she is soooo pretty. Fixing to look on the website and see if I can find out who she was bred to. Thought I would tell you guys, in case anyone wants to watch with me. If I see her actually get started kidding I'll pop back on and tell you guys. From my view point it looks like it may not be to long.

  • LOL!  I was in a hurry when I first saw what you'd posted about.  I didn't finish reading, so I didn't know I'd added a link to the farm you were talking about.  Funny!

  • Thanks for posting the link Patty. I still haven't been able to figure out how to do that! But yes, this is the farm I have been watching the last few days. Isn't it just to cool?! I bet it is expensive, but I am going to check on it because I think it is just sooooo awesome!

  • Here's an example from a farm in northern MN.  This doe was pregnant yesterday.  If you catch it at the right time, you can see the births.  :)  Fun!
