I will be picking up my first goats on Tuesday. i have always wanted goats but just never had the time. I am getting two kids one was born Good Friday and the other one was born Easter. Sometimes I have to travel what do you do with your goats when you go on vacation or have to go away for a few days? This one issue that has me a little worried.

We have a small herd and during milking season my husband and I don't get to do more than day trips together. We don't have anyone who can take over milking for us so we have to leave after morning milking and be back by evening milking. Maybe sometime in the future we'll be able to hire someone to help out a bit.
When the girls are dry we have gone away for the occasional overnight and had a neighbour swing by to water/feed and check on them morning and evening.
If you have milking does who still have their kids on them you can leave the kids with them to do the milking for you if you need to be away, but I'd still have someone stop by to check on them.
