Goats are spending one week per month at a Chicago park to help clear brush:

Jennifer, from stories I've read before, they use something like ElectroNet (temporary electric fencing) with a solar charger. We use that for rotational grazing on our farm and love it.
Unfortunately, Jennifer, around here they often tether them. Usually there are fences around them, however.
I too, love these types of articles! I always wonder how the goats are contained during clearings, however. Thanks for sharing, Deborah.
Fantastic Reading!
All the parks should have goat visitors. That is so cool!
Must be nice to have 700 head. WOW! I would love that, but not all milk goats. Too much work. Not enough enjoyment. But just browsing over acres and roaming around. That would be great if you had the room.
If I lived where houses were that close and had sidewalks, I would so be the one walking my goats on the sidewalks. I can see it now!
As for the Goat Girls, well I have been stewing over in my mind the idea of having a goat clearing rental business since sometime last year but am not sure how to get started. I really would love to do this because my hubby has some health issues that make his job increasingly difficult and I want to help him to find another way to make enough money so he can quit what he is doing. I had read a really cool article about one of these types of businesses last year and thought it sounded like it would be perfect for him to start with a few mixed meat goats. I thought it might be a good way to help get the kids out in the fresh air doing something worthwhile in the summers too. So if any of you have any ideas about how I can get info on getting started that would be great.
I love to see goats making the news, thank you Deobrah!
I am so excited about you posting these that I haven't even looked at them yet . I just wanted to say thanks first and I am going to go read them in a minute. I love things like this!
