Goat Photos

A local food critic was out yesterday to see our goats and farm. She actually showed up for our 5am milking. It wasn't a cheesemaking day, but she got some good photos of the goats and the milking. You can see them here if you're interested:

In a couple of the photos you can see what you end up with if you don't have anyone to show you how to disbud kids when you first start out. The white goat and one with white and dark facial stripes each have one horn and one scur. Oh well, I seem to like learning my lessons the harder way.

There are also some LaManchas in the herd too.

  • Beautiful pictures!!  In the pic with 4 goats on the milk stand the second goat in the front looks a lot like Indiana, my older doe.  I love the closeups of the faces... they are all so pretty. I can't seem to ever get decent pictures close up.
  • I really enjoyed that! thanks for sharing! :D

  • That was really fun to see!  What a treasure that milk is!  I'm anxiously waiting to get to the point where we have enough to use.
  • I loved the pictures!! That's really neat that they did that :0)
