It has been a really long day, for all of us, but I think that it was longest for OldeButter and she was only on the last half of the trip. The part from Oldesouth Farm back to Mobile. It has been over three months since we went to Terry's farm and picked up Oak and I have been waiting all this time to get back up there and get my Butter and it seemed it would never happen. Well, we finally have her and her huge belly back here with us. The poor thing stayed on her feet the whole time we were driving home. I could not believe it as big as she is, but she seems perfectly happy to be so enormous. So now we will just be taking it easy and trying to get her as spoiled as all the rest are so she is sure to feel that she fits in and is very happy here. We are so very proud to have our Swell Foop daughter who is also due to kid this month and is bred to Rosasharn MR General B. I absolutely love this buck. I just think he is the most awesome little thing. I feel in love with him the very first time I ever saw his picture. Speaking of which I took a couple of Butter, that I wanted to share but she doesn't look near as big in the pics as she really is but does anyone think she could be having quads again? She has had them twice already!

  • Yea, she is huge and No she hasn't made her udder yet so my guess is that this will be another set of quads. (Unless she brakes her record) She was pasture bred but is suppose to be due this month sometime. She doesn't eat to much grain though, she just snacks on it throughout the day.

I have her literally a few feet from my door so I can watch her really well. One side of the pen is actually my porch were we spend a lot of time so she is barely out of someone's sight at all times. Cause I am a worrying mama. In fact my little milk maid sleeps on the porch near her cause the weather is such that no one wants to go in at night. It is just to nice at night to be inside.

  • As large as she looks, I can't imagine how big she must be if you're saying she is bigger in person! Wow! When is she due? I'm not seeing an udder, so I'm thinking she has at least a month left, which means the kids will get even bigger.

  • Thanks Patty, but she really does look bigger in person. I am so happy with her. She is sooooo sweet, and I am soooo anxious about these kids since they are our first NDs and of such high quality of breeding. I pray everything goes without a hitch. And that they turn out to be as nice as they should, because we hope to keep them all. After all they may be the best quality I ever get my hands on but if she has to many bucks I will eventually have to get rid of some probably. Hoping for some of both sexes and then maybe I can keep them all.

  • Congratulations!  She is pretty big!!
