Quick question..we're starting to get some winter weather here in NC and when we were out giving the little ones hay today we noticed they all seems "puffier" like they were fattening up for the winter. We had a doe with worms a couple months ago and she was swollen (bottle jaw) then so the 1st thing we did was check the eyelids which were a bright hot pink on all them :) so very happy bout that, but still wondering why they seem puffier so the Question is do any of you guys noticed your goats "fattening" up for winter?

Mine are starting to put on winter coats. Not noticing much extra weight but do notice the colors are different, brighter?
Well, it doesn't get all that COLD here, but still it is getting COOL and some of my goats are getting quite FLUFFY! They look just adorable! But they are also getting fatter looking too, and I know it is not my imagination. I figure it is partly age and maturing. I haven't done anything like worming everyone or anything else that would effect them, other than changing my feeding. Which I was planning on asking ya'll about and since I am so bad about hijacking threads I won't get into that here and now. That leaves me with only one last thing... are they fattening up for winter? I am with you wondering about this, so I can't wait to see what everyone else says.
On my goats, their fur gets its cashmere under layer... and that makes them look fluffier. :)
