I decided after what Deborah said about Fairy, I just had to see if anyone sees anything in some of the other girls that I should know. I hope ya'll don't mind me taken space to do this. I have pics of a few now and I thought I could do a few more later, if it is ok with you guys. Since the comment was about Fairy' teats, I figured that would be were I would start.
I really got to find a way to start a site for evaluating photos. Just something in between what we have here and a virtual show. You know something that won't interfere with the forum but at the same time no actual judging. Just a friendly sharing of opinions and experience with compliments and recommendations for areas to improve!
I just feel strongly that with so many people like myself trying to learn and folks who care enough about confirmation to go to the extreme lengths that our forum friend Dawn is now going through that I need to think of a way to set up a format for us to share pics and get this help that is much needed for many of us. I guess what I am after is your opinions as to rather or not you think this is something that enough people would be interested in.!?

Wild Card' dam has a beautiful udder as do they all but ... in my opinion this is possibly the most beautiful udder I have ever seen!
And we have a half-sister to Gennie out of Wild Card also!

But I don't even know if this is what they are suppose to look like and since apparently Fairy' Teats are nice and I can't tell the difference I am hoping that means these ain't to bad either but I can take it . It is what it is! As they say. I look at it this way: healthier than anything you can buy at the store and better too! It is delicious. It just even taste cleaner, seriously.
I plan to eat mine... A little sad/apprehensive about that... but it's what I've decided.

Thanks, Margaret! She's got good bloodlines, so there's no reason she shouldn't prove to be worth it for me. I won't be selling her kids, or breeding her to my best buck... In the middle of selling/moving farms etc... her dam fell through the cracks for registration, and now the farm that her dam was born on is "MIA" so to speak, so even though I know her lines, I can't get the paperwork for her. Since I like her dam so much, I chose to go ahead and get her for my own "personal" herd use, and no more. If she turns out to be an extraordinary milker, I *might* consider keeping a doeling from her and my best buck down the road... but that will be many years from now.
Dawne, probably a better solution for the photos is for everyone to load them to the photo gallery and tag them with the same tag. That way, a simple search for that tag will bring up any photos that have the tag. It's a fast, easy way to see everything at once, and have comments be left specifically with the image they are directed at. I'll start a thread in the showing forum with instructions on how to do that.
Perhaps a "critique" category?
If y'all want to post more pictures of goats and get opinions, I'm thinking that fits in the "Showing" category of the forum. Or do you think I should add a new category? If so, what should we name it?
Well Rachel, I want to say that I hope she has the best ever, but then if she is the only unregistered one in your herd and has the best that would probably just p*** you off huh? But I do hope she has a really nice udder and teats just to show that she has valuable worth to you!
Dawn, I look at it this way, we may not know as much as some about what they are suppose to look like, but we know one thing very well and that it what really matters in the long run.
We know what we like! Every Herd is built upon, and Every Champion starts out with someones idea of what they personally like and what they are striving to breed. Genetically determined assets aside(production,good kiddings,easy milking,multiple births), Perfect Confirmation is nothing more than the right group of people agreeing upon what they like. It all boils down to a judges opinion, and they are only people!
My unregistered doe (the only one in my herd, but I took her because her mom is a great milker) has some nice teats. I can't wait to see her udder... I hope it's as good as it has the potential to be!!
