Hi there, I am new to the group, relatively new to goats and live in Australia.
These bubbas are hot out of the oven. These two boys were born to Peppa this morning (while I was working…of course). Safely arrived with no help from me and placenta arrived a short time later. The mum, Peppa is a Silver and white Australian Miniature and the buck is a Swiss Marked Nigerian Dwarf.
One boy seems to be a brown based silver (?) and the other black based but he also is showing brown on his flanks.
Now I have no idea what colours these would be called so interested if someone could help me out. I understand dog genetics but not goats and am guessing the black based boy is probably influenced by one of the agouti gene variants (buckskin?), with the silver overlaid over the agouti (silver I believe is dominant). I don’t believe either three are roan as they do not have solid coloured faces.

Hi Diana!
I can't help you with the answer on this, but I wanted to say THEY ARE LOVELY!!!
Combining breeds with different patterns absolutely opens the flood gate for color potential :)
Hopefully someone else here has a much better understanding of goat color genetics than I do, and can help you out.
