"Hi Maria
It really depends on the breed/size of your goats as well as your environmental conditions. Moist and humid environments will create more odor and poorer air quality sooner than dry environments with same number of goats .
Before we built…"
"Hi there again!
So sorry for the tardy response. I have been out all day long.
I am also in Central Texas- just east of Austin, so I know the frustration with keeping everyone fed and hydrated during this drought and heat wave!
It sounds like you…"
"Hi there Rebecca
You definately have need for concern with these kiddos. They are all extremely underweight. Even the younger kids that weigh more. A healthy, well nourished ND kid should weigh 20# by the time they are 10-12 weeks old. Even runts…"

"Hi Wanda!
Congratulations on doing such a great job with this little guy!
I think the answer to your questions will come down to making sure that he has the appropriate nutrition. I had a 15oz doeling born several years ago and she has stayed small,…"
"I'm so glad to hear that she is back on track!
It is not super common, but some does will actually nurse from their own udder. If you see it, you will definately know what she is doing.
'Typical' FF lactation is really hard to judge. It very much…"
Hi, Tammy. Good to meet you. My family has a small homestead in the Texas Hill Country and we raise a herd of 4 Nigerian Dwarf, 1 Boer, 1 African Pygmy and 5 Nigora Goats. Four of our does are currently pregnant, three of which are for the first time, and all due this April. We survived the recent snow and are excited for Spring. I am happy to be here with all of you. Thank you for the welcome.
