We Made the News!

Deborah suggested I post this over here.

We're getting a small farmstead cheese business going and we got some publicity recently. I was at a goat seminar and got caught off-guard by a reporter who happened to be sitting beside me and started chatting. I'm happy I didn't say anything goofy.

The reporter didn't mention that we'll be using the milk from a few full-size goats this year too, just to ensure that our pasteurizer is running properly. And the milk to cheese ratio that I gave is a bit off.

  • Very cool! The closest I ever get to being in the paper is my freelance journalist work -- but no one reads the bylines. That is sooo cool to be featured and have your name in something like that! Good luck in the dairy businesses -- sounds exciting!
  • Great article! You'll have to keep us updated as things progress. Unfortunately, in Illinois, we'd have to have a licensed plumber and electrician to do all of the work. My husband is also an electrical engineer, and he built our house, but he would not be allowed to do any of the electrical or plumbing work if we started a dairy, so that would increase the cost a lot. Still, I keep going back to the idea of starting one.
