This has absolutely nothing to do with goats but I thought ya'll, as fellow animal lovers, might enjoy some pictures of the results of spring here in Southern NC. The first picture is of a turtle who made a nest and laid her eggs in our yard on Sunday. Out of all the places to do so, she decided to do it where the animals are. Bella (my GP) growled and barked at her but has yet to disturb the nest.
Then, today I was out watching my goats graze in the sun when suddenly one of the doelings popped her head up and stared intently at something on the other side of the trees. Then, her mother did the same. About 30 seconds later I figured out what had them so mesmerized. In the five years we have lived here, I have never encountered such a sight. But it was well worth the "wait!"

Isn't it? It turns out they are our neighbors ducklings so I guess we'll be seeing them often! They are more than welcome to come over for a visit and snack on the bugs in the grass.
That is just adorable! Maybe it's some kind of sign that you will have a very fertile year around there. I mean seriously, a turtle lays her eggs right out there like that and all them babies waddle up outta nowhere. That's just TOO cool!
No, they are not mine. We do have a pond though, and our neighbor does to. So either they are wild and wandered up from the water or our neighbor got them to put in his pond and they wattled over to meet the neighbors! ;)
Great pics, but I am confused. Are you saying those babies are not yours? If so where did they come from? At any rate they are just precious. Thanks for sharing.
Cool pictures!! Thanks for sharing.
