Registeries?

I have a question about registering with different registries. All of my herd came with AGS paperwork and several have ADGA, but my young buckling has all three. Now my question is after I get back the AGS papers can I reg. all of them w/ the other 2 registries, based on their AGS registrations or not.

  • Thanks, that helps a lot. I think the best thing for me is probably to do the AGS ones first and then see if I have a reason to need the others later.

  • Yes, ADGA and NDGA will accept AGS papers to register the goats. However, you might not necessarily want to register with all three. You only need to be registered with a particular registry if you plan to show or participate in their performance programs (milk testing, classification, LA). A goat is not worth more simply because he has multiple registries; it only means that someone was willing to spend the money to register him multiple times. I currently have goats registered with AGS and ADGA because I participate in their milk tests. Those are the two main registries, and almost everyone who buys goats from me is only interested in those two. But if live in some place like Indiana or California where they have huge NDGA shows, you might want to register with them.
