Hello Oregon Raw Milk Producers,
We have a second educational event coming up November 17th at Champoeg Creamery and November 19th at Deck Family Farms in Junction City - same event, two different options to make it convenient for more to attend. This is sponsored by Oregon Raw Milk Producers Association and is $35 per person. See attached flyer.
Tim Wightman wrote the Raw Milk Handbook that you may have seen before - both Weston A. Price and Farm To Consumer sell it and you can also download his "Chore Time" videos here. He owned a raw milk dairy for 14 yrs. and is president of the Farm to Consumer Foundation. You can read more about him and the topics for the day on the attached flyer. The topics he covers - soil health, how to identify failing soil and what to do, herd health, proper milking practices and milk handling - and more - are all crucial to each of our businesses.
Tim encourages consumers to attend as well - feel free to forward this flyer to your customers, Weston Price chapter leaders and others you think might be interested in raw milk education. Consumer education will go far towards maintaining our right to continue to produce raw milk in Oregon.
We are continuing to plan quarterly educational seminars - and in between each quarter we'd like to offer farm visits - informal visits to each other s milking parlors - no entertaining, just a stroll through the barn. All these gatherings are informative and just as important is the networking that has started between us producers - many people have said how wonderful it is to meet others who share the same challenges, are able to trade ideas and resources.

Sounds like a great time! I wish I was closer to all these wonderful goings on! I did see that the 2013 ADGA National Show is going to be in Austin, MN! If ever I was going to be able to make it to anything like that, this would be the one! :)
