Q about Wormer Dosing?

OK. So I don't give wormer very often, but I have one doe that I think needs to be wormed. In the past, I've used my pour on as just that, a pour on. However, I would like to try to drench this time, and I'm not sure exactly how to do that.

Can someone help me remember the dosing (is it double the cattle measurements?)

And do you seriously just make them drink it?

  • Thanks!!

  • I figured you knew that. :) Depending upon what you use, the syringe or drench gun will make more sense. If you're doing 1 cc, a syringe works fine. If you get something that requires 12 cc, then a drench gun is much better.

  • Yes, I know they won't willingly drink it, and that I'd have to get it down there myself. I just couldn't think of a better word for it. lol

Yes, it's double the cattle dosage for everything except levasole, which is only 1.5 X. And they will never drink it. :) You use a syringe (no needle) or a drench gun and place is on the back of their tongue and slowly squirt. (I edited this; originally wrote throat instead of tongue and noticed as soon as I hit save.)
