Introducing Ginger's triplets! Every year I think the kids are "The cutest ever!"
Baby #2, buck, blue eyes 4# 2 oz.
Baby #3, doe, blue eyes 2# 11 oz.
Baby #1, doe, brown eyes 2# 7 oz.
Also introducing Donald! Mama Moon is taken with the little guy. :) He was a twin, but his sister was stillborn. This was my second vet visit for a kidding. The dead kid was completely twisted, coming out head, one front foot, tail and back feet all at once. Donald was coming first, but some of the other kid's parts were coming along with him. So, way too confusing for me to sort out. My vet (also a friend and my boss as I work for her as a veterinary assistant) did a fine job of sorting them though. :)

Julia, it sure is not a fun time when you realize something is wrong, and you're so unsure of the course to take. This was absolutely the strangest kidding. It started out perfectly normal, proceeded to hard pushing, and a huge burst of fluid. Immediately after the burst of fluid, Moon curled up for a rest and never appeared to have a contraction again, unless one of us had a hand inside her. I think the jam up wasn't letting anything far enough into the birth canal to stimulate her to push. Since she went from pushing hard to taking a rest, and stayed that way for about half an hour, I felt something was wring. So, in I went and found such a mess of tangled limbs! So to the vet we went. I thought there were triplets until the second, dead kid was pulled and we could see that she was a completely twisted up mess. It was hard, but I was just happy to have my doe doing so well and the live kid so healthy looking. And, all is well! Moon is doing amazingly well after what she went through getting those kids out.

Yes, it is nice. :) However, I'm working hard not to take advantage, because she's mainly a dog and cat vet and is hoping to retire in 5 years. She turns 60 this year. I know she really doesn't want to be or feel especially comfortable knowledge wise up to the elbow in a doe (though IMO, she's very good at it). I'm going to miss having her here, and miss working for her. I LOVE going to work! I only go on her surgery days, usually 2 days a week, to assist her with them. Best job ever. :)

Oh SO adorable! The brand new ones are especially cuties! Glad you kept a cool head and got Donald safely into this world! That birth might have sent me over the edge! Congrats!
Congrats! They are all so cute! Doeling #1 totally stole my heart :)
Sorry to hear about the difficult labor with Moon and Donald, but I'm glad you got everything worked out and they are both okay!
