I have one little buckling I am retaining who is 8 weeks old this week and about 17-18 lbs. . He is harassing the adult does who have new babies (his own mother too) and mostly the one who is due this week and big as a house and who really doesn't need the stress. I keep grabbing him and putting him in the buck pen with the bucks to give the girls a break and then bringing him back as he is really afraid of my big buck who harasses HIM! Any thoughts on how to handle this? Would it be so terrible to wean him at 8 weeks so the girls don't have to tolerate him? Will my buck be likely to hurt him? I also have a 9 month old buckling in there and he's not nearly as bad toward the buckling.

Ooh that's an excellent idea! Thanks!

To protect the baby when they are in the barn, I would put the little in a dog kennel. That way, you don't end up with injuries because of the close space. :)
I really don't have another separate space. I have a MICRO farm (1 acre). Two pens-- one for does and one for bucks. My adult buck is really sweet natured and I don't think he'd hurt the little guy but I hate the idea of putting them all in their tiny barn together at night! It's going to have to happen though. Thanks for your input.
I have a few younger bucklings that will be wethers soon... and they are bothering EVERYONE... can't wait until they are old enough to band.
