I have seen some ridiculously fancy and expensive stuff in my life, including weddings. But, Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending the nicest wedding I have ever attended. I wish you all could have been there with me. It was so us! We would have had a blast! There was enough food and cake for all of us too!
It was at The Partridge Plantation, located in Irvington, Alabama. It is a small family owned and run farm that is host to hundreds of school kids every year. My cousins own the plantation!
We not only had some chairs but bales of hay for seating! Mason jars held candles and flowers. A beagle puppy chewed my toes and shoes during a prayer. Hens cackled, a rooster chased another. A toddling little girl snatched at the "Outhouse" door (fully functional-with real plumbing) a few feet away. Ducks quacked. The larger animals were pretty quiet, although I noticed one horse make a little noise, rubbing against the fence. A huge bloodhound roamed under the food tent, but never touched a thing. We had bubbles to blow in little plastic cowboy boots.
And you would never have guessed that under that big white dress, the bride had on, for her something old, a pair of awful workboots that her brother had given her! BTW the bride is my niece, the youngest daughter of my only brother! She is actually 32 and just getting married. A little unusual these days. It wouldn't let me make the pic a little bigger, but this is my brother and Genevieve, our country girl bride!
Just thought you all might find this interesting, if you have any girls getting married soon! I hope after this my girls decide on something similar! Nothing against churches, but this felt so much closer to God to me!
