Hello everyone
This is my first post (question).
I am thinking of installing my rabbit cages on the outside of my barn wall about 4-5 feet up. My girls (3 ndg's) have access to that area as well as it's all under cover. Would it hurt my girls (goats) any IF they decided to eat any rabbit droppings or spilled rabbit pellets?

I agree, I'm having a hard time imagining my goats purposely eating poop. They might end up eating some if they were trying to get the rabbit pellets... but they wouldn't just seek out poop. At least not mine!! lol I'm not sure about the rabbit pellets. I know they are *more* than just alfalfa pellets... but I don't know what the *more* is. Unless they are extremely high in protein or something like that, I can't imagine they'd be harmful if they got a hold of bits off the ground. Rabbits are vegetarians just like goats.
Some years I have given raspberry leaves to my pregnant does and some years I have not, and I have never seen a difference between kidding ease from one year to the next. The bottom line with NDs is that they tend to be very easy kidders, and they don't have much of anything that I would consider recovery.
Thanks Deborah!
Wow that was sooo quick! I needed to find a shady place for the bunnies & under the lean two (sp?) on the barn is the only place I've come up with. I'm so excited to find your website. 2 of my 3 girls are pregnant-due in mid & end of June-first fresheners:) This is my first time with milk goats or Nigerians for that matter. Have you ever used any of the herbs from Molly's Herbals? I'm thinking of getting the preg tonic for them. It's supossed to make easier births and recovery.
I never say never when it comes to goat behavior, but I am having a really hard time imagining goats eating poop. Most of them won't touch the water bucket if another goat poops in it. Now dogs and pigs are another story! They seem to think that poop is a delicacy.
