Hello and thank you for letting me join. My wife and I have decided to get some Nigerian dwarf goats and we have several questions. The first is the fence. I'm being told a fence with 4x4 holes is good. Has anyone had experience with that or should I get fence with the 2x4 holes. Thanks Dan

  • Hi Dan!
I have both the 2 x 4 hinged fencing and the 4 x 4 hinged fencing on my property. I have found that the 2 x 4 hinged is definitely more sturdy and has less sagging using the same amount of spacing between support posts. If I had it over to do again, I would do all two by fours. It is a bit more pricey though.

Don't buy the welded wire. It won't last with goats and you will be kicking yourself in a few years.

The super sturdy  welded panels work nicely for smaller areas but they are quite expensive for anything expansive :)
