Hello! We are hoping to add some does in milk to our Kansas homestead soon! We welcome any advice you have for starting off with goats! We have about 5 acres with chickens, pigs, a dog and cat. A large portion of that is a cedar forest. Could we let the goats browse in that? How many goats do you recommend? We would like enough milk for our family of 2 adults and 4 small children to drink and make cheese. We hope to utilize rotational grazing via livestock panels if possible. Thanks for all your help! -Melissa

  • Hi there Melissa!

Here is a link to MANY articles that will answer all these questions and more :) Some are podcasts and some are short read articles. From this site you can also put your topic in the search bar to bring up specific articles, but this link will lay out information in a nice progressive pace :)
