I am on my first year of FFA in High School and my mom only wants to breed them once then milk them through the 4 years I'm going to have them, but my adviser told me this is bad for them and they need to have a break in between lactation and that's what I thought, but I can't convince my mom this. I wanted to hear it from a expert and make sure this is correct.

This really helped. Thanks!
Here's one of our milking discussions. It's got some information you can use when you're talking to your mom about how things work. :)

Off the top of my head, I can't remember what others have said their longest was. You might be able to search it here in the forum. I know we've had conversations about it before!
I was thinking they couldn't lactate for that long.
Extended milking can cause them to become over weight. Also, I haven't heard of any Nigerians milking for four years. That's a really long time. They dry off before then. Even those that milk for over a year! Even with extended milking, you should expect to breed and have babies at least 2 times within 4 years for milk production.
