Is it okay to leave the lights on all night in the barn? My new lady is due in about 2-1/2 weeks, second time for her but first time for me. I have a camera set up to display on a television which, of course, doesn't show much when it's dark. I've been turning off the light around 10:00 but really would like to leave it on all night but am not certain it would be good for the two goats, especially about to be Mom.
So, what is your experience/opinion regarding leaving the lights on at night? I don't want to disrupt Capri any more than she has been already with the move to her last weekend.

We use a red heat lamp and it doesn't seem to bother our goats, they prefer it actually because it keeps them nice and warm. It can also keep the newborns from becoming chilled if they are born without you around.
I don't know the answer to the light Q per say, but does your camera work with red lighting? Animals don't see red light, and a red heat lamp might be the answer to your problem.
