I am new to the whole farm business. It is something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I spent the last three years in Iraq, as a contractor, paid off all my bills and put a good downpayment on a 10.44 acre farm in West Central Indiana.
My goal is to have a flock of Shetland sheep for fiber, three Nigerian Dwarf goats for milk, chickens for eggs and a couple of bee hives. It has turned out that my pastures are really overgrown, so I added two Angus steers to get it eaten down before I add the goats and sheep. I adore my farm and my new life. It is the best thing I have done, short of my three kids. (all grown up now) I can hardly wait for my goats in the Spring.

The timing worked out very well that we are getting three goats (two wethers and a pregnant doe) from someone who can't keep them and the puppy will be ready to go right at the same time. I just have to finish the goat shed.
