After hearing about one of our members here on NDDG building a yurt it reminded me of a website that a good friend of ours told us about sometime ago. They build hexayurts out of plywood, for about $100.00, may be more now due to inflation. These shelters are easily moved and often used in other countries that have been ravaged by floods, earthquakes and other calamities. I thought they would also make great shelters for goats and other livestock and for us two legged critters too! I've given the link below for the website and a 25 minute video. I've also posted the video in the video section of NDDG too.
Maggie and hubby we would love to see your pictures of your yurt!! You go girl!!

I am thinking of building some of these. I may build me one to move into!
I have a TON of pictures of building ours, we've been actually living in it for a few weeks now.
In Mongolia, they have yurts with indiviual cloth panels that can be rolled up to allow better air flow... Ours has five large (4'x5') windows and it's still pretty warm when they're all open.
I've been thinking more about the goat shelter thing, or even using one as a chicken coop.
They're very efficient on usage of space I think.
