I have read in another forum that this is normal. But, my doe was bred on Friday and today I see clear mucous and she is a little red on the rim of her vulva. On Saturday after being bred on Friday, she just sat and chewed cud and ran from the buck if he got near her. Now on Tuesday, I see mucous.
Another question is this was an outcross breeding. It is my understanding (?) that if I had my own buck, I could bred the does to their sisters buck kid? Just wondering.
Thanks - one more doe to go. She hasnt shown signs of heat since late Aug. early September. The last time, she had a long string of mucous hanging down - nothing since. I did COWP her a few days ago - see if that makes any difference.
thanks!

I wouldnt be able to get again until tomorrow or friday - ( what should I do when he comes back leave them together 24/7 for how long? waaaa, I just powdered her with baby powder yesterday to "clean" her up - ( lol.
Breeding a doe to her sister's son would be line breeding, and I'd only do it if I was dealing with really excellent stock, and I was sure that there wasn't anything nasty that might pop up like teat defects.
