Oh, crap that is some smart thinking girl! I agree, we should set up the bucks info ahead of time, for sure after hearing this. I want to do this with mine. If I had known before, I would have done the two meat bucks we had here and these two babies. But I am pretty sure that I know, it must have been "Handsome".
I'm pretty sure it's a hair sample. I've done DNA testing on my cows, and it was a hair sample of about 40 hairs from their tails. I looked this up on the ADGA website a couple years ago, and I think it also said hair and that it was about $25? They have a special group rate with a certain lab because they'd like to get as many bucks as possible DNAed. I'm always thinking that in my spare time (LOL) I should do this just in case I ever wind up with a complete surprise kidding after a winter where a buck has died. I suppose we could go by process of elimination there, but if two bucks died, it would be impossible to figure out the parentage then.
LMAO! Goats you silly goober! There is always so much talk about these accidental breedings and I have seen on some sites were they had to have them done etc. I just want to find out ahead of time. I figure sending in a blood draw is probably all that is necessary, but to whom and at what cost, who knows? Or is a normal blood draw not how it is done.

Guess they had a price increase, saying $27, now. Very reasonable!
