I've been trying to find an answer to this question, and with all my research can't seem to get one! How long are Nigerian Dwarf bucks in rut, and how often?
Thanks!

You need to be a member of Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats to add comments!
Thank you for the quick response! That makes sense.

Since NDs are not historically seasonal breeders, they are not in rut like the large dairy breeds. They do get more stinky in the fall and tend to fight more in the fall, but they can breed does year round. Not all ND does come into heat year round, but many do. We have had kids here every month of the year, but we definitely have more does coming into heat in the fall during the traditional breeding season.
