Really don't know what to tell ya'll other than that I went out the other morning and heard strange noises, then saw Oak's rear end lying down in the house jerk a couple of times like he was sneezing and heard terrible gurgling noises. He got up and came out with his nose all covered in snot and hay stuck to it then I noticed that Quill also had a snotty nose and Karley' looked just SLIGHTLY snotty also.

I can not imagine that happening all at once. Would it have anything to do with terrible rains? Them staying up in their little house to much? The hay getting damp in all the moisture. Should I give them antibiotics or do that get colds that just need to run their course or what? I didn't want to give them shots unnecessarily and then when they needed them it not do any good.

I haven't taken their temps either.   They act good though and are eating!

  • I saw it, Margaret, but have nothing to offer being such a newbie.  With that said, however, they have been very much on my mind and in my heart along with Amigo and some others.

  • OK, NOW, I didn't mind so much that this slipped through the cracks with no replies (since they are no worse and maybe not quite so bad) til now and finding out that poor Amigo has died.  But after hearing that he had died and had been running in the rain and mine had started this after all this rain we were having it is rather scary! Someone must know where that line is that you cross over from cold running its course/ to start antibiotics to prevent pneumonia. I want to know before it is to late. So far they seem ok (acting-eating good etc.) and it is better but not gone. Thanks guys!
