I feel really stupid... lol I knew you meant homeopathic remedies... but for WHAT? What part of the pregnancy, what ailment, etc?
I think you're right about smooth sailing even for first time moms unless they have a large kid, etc...
I guess my "remedy" has been in my feeding more than with herbs because I was having large kids that were causing issues. That's not really what you're looking for, though. (I don't think)
I do mean homeopathic remedies. Some of my dog breeder friends swear by them. I asked one goat person on line, I have another woman goat friend who uses homeopathy and both give Caulophyllum to mothers for a few weeks before birth. It is supposed to tone and ready the uterus for its birthing chore.
Since most goat births go without a hitch - I have no way of knowing if doing this was useful or helpful or extraneous.
I suspect most first time moms in the goat world birth their babies out in 15 minutes unless there is a presentation problem.
I was hoping someone on the list had lots of experience and could share.
I also used the raspberry leaves - and I have some left over now as the mothers no longer have any interest in them.
If you mean homeopathic remedies, I have not used any. As for herbs, I have given raspberry leaves to pregnant and laboring does, but sometimes I run out or forget to order them before kidding starts, and my does do great 95% of the time either way.

Not sure what you mean by birthing remedies?
