Sophie surprised me with triplets yesterday afternoon! 2 little girls and 1 boy. Unfortunately 1 of the little girls didn't make it. But her sister and brother are doing great. Snickers is the little chamoisee boy and Almond Joy aka Joy is the little black and white blue eyed girl! Sophie is such a good mama! Can't wait for their little cousins to be born! Until May, I have a feeling that I'll have something to do! Play with kids!!

Nigerians have a tendency to kid very quickly once they start, and that's why I asked if you had been able to attend the birth. If I were to guess, I would say the dead kid might have been the last one, and at the rate Nigerian does kid multiples, they often don't get to their third or fourth kids in time to clean the sack from their airway. In cold weather, those kids can often die because they did not get dry fast enough.
BUT
Does also have a knack for waiting until you aren't home after you've been watching for hours and days for kids to kid! The babies are adorable! Congratulations again, on the new additions!
No I was not able to attend because Sophie decided to wait until I was away to kid. She had them Easter Sunday while I was at church! And the funny thing is, I had stayed up for 3 nights watching her on the monitor, waiting to see if she would have them. She wouldn't let me feel her ligaments so I didn't really know when. She acted out of character for days. So Sunday, when I saw her eating and running and acting completely normal, I didn't think she would kid. But sure enough, when I came home there were 2 kids eating and the other had already died. She was really little and I think that Sophie may have had a harder time getting her out. But Snickers and Almond Joy and mama are doing well!
Congratulations on the babies!! Where you able to attend the birth? :)
Congratulations! The "Candy Kids" are adorable! Sorry you lost the other doe, though.
