Wether and Buck

I have a wether and a buck.  My question is: how old should the wether be before putting him in with the buck? Our wether is 3 months old and the buck is 13 months old.

  • There really is no "right" answer to this question. You could put him in right now, or you could leave him with your does forever to serve as a heat indicator. I used to put three month old bucks in with my adult bucks, and the only problem I had was coccidia. The older boys can tolerate a lot more in their digestive system that the little guys, and my bucks were kept on a fairly small area.
