Udder Issue?

Due to my recent brain surgery, my 13-year-old son was left to milk the goats without my supervision for a few days, and the day of the surgery he failed to do the morning milking....so she was over-full and miserable in the evening, and her udder is now stretched out.  He didn't even realize he hadn't done it (stress?) and panicked at the appearance of her udder in the evening--I was literally giving him instructions on testing for mastitis over the hospital phone only hours after getting out of surgery.  Fortunately, she is in good shape in terms of health, but her formerly pretty udder is sagging.  Is there anything we can do to help the skin firm back up again?  I'm suspecting that there is NOT....but I thought it was worth a try.

  • I wouldn't expect that one late milking would permanently damage her udder. But if it did, there really isn't anything you can do to fix it. I hope you're recovering from your surgery well!
