traveling and expecting

Ok, as it stands right now we are expecting kids the 29th and 31st of January. We normally go out of town for a week at Christmas to Dallas. We have someone set up to come by twice a day, and feed the animals etc, They could take the goats to the vet 20 minutes away if need be.  Do you think that the does will be ok while we are gone, or do you think I should stay home in case something happens?

  • Ok, I feel less worried about leaving them for a week then. Thanks!

Sounds like you are leaving a month before they're due, correct? If so, they'll be fine. If they were to go into labor that early, there is nothing that could be done anyway. The kids would not be mature enough to survive. I recently posted a new video on here about the two premature kids we raised. They were two weeks early, and that was a tough one. They really don't survive any earlier than that.
