I want to try to use my 4 month old buckling to breed one of my does before I band castrate him. Is it possible for his balls to become too big to fit through the band?

The other thing to consider is that he might not get her pregnant at his age. Again this year I used a 6-month-old buck, and the first doe he bred did not get pregnant. That's happened before. I'm not saying not to try using him for breeding, but I am saying that you shouldn't castrate him until you know your doe is pregnant.
Yes. That's why I ultimately purchased a Burdizzo. I wanted to band a 6-month-old buck, and there was no way it was happening. Some grow faster than others. Some 4-month-olds would already be too big.

His is kind of on the big side(almost 30 lbs and 18ins tall).
I did take my band castrater to see if it looked like he could still be castrated with it. It looks like I could do it with not too much persuasion.
Now I just have to wait a see if my doe comes back into heat next week.
My pretty boy!
I suspect he's got a lot of testosterone!
Thanks!
