My two friends asked if I would stud out one or two of my buck's. I have a closed herd but, want to help them find a stud service. Both are looking for Nigerian Dwarf buck's near/around Fleetwood or Boyertown, Pennsylvania. They want to breed their does for late spring kiddings. I looked and asked around but couldn't find anything for them. I thought asking on here would help expand my options. I would like to stud out my buck's just for them but don't want to put my herd in danger for any diseases. Thank you for any help.

Hello Nancy, we decided to get 2 bucks for our herd. Since finding a stud buck in our area was slim. It is best to make sure your doe, as well as any stud buck has been tested for diseases, that can be transmitted and infected all your herd. A friend of ours shows his goats and he recommend papers showing negitive tests for any doe coming into for stud service with his negtive tested buck. He has show goats and said he would rather be safe require blood test than sorry for a herd infection or loss. Most folks buy in a buck for their herd. We found it best to stay a closed herd.
