Seperating kids and milking in the morning

I had Aurora in a dog crate last night from midnight to 8 am right after I milked Indiana. Although it was more than she has previously given with Aurora on 24 hours, I thought I would get more than 1 lb... Her history indicates that she is a very good milker,  Do you think that will increase over time? At what intervals should i increase the amount of time she is off until I reach 12 hours?

  • If she was separated for 8 hours and gave one pound, that's three pounds in 24 hours, which is respectable at a week or two. Her production will continue to increase until about six weeks. You can increase an hour separation every night.
