Im new to milking. I know that people drink their milk raw. Obviously this means it is stored raw. My boyfriend is not comfortable with the thoight of raw milk, that said, I guess I have a question or two about pasteurizing milk....
Question: How long after milking do I have before the milk needs to be pasrurized? Can I combine the morning and evening milk and pasturize it together? Or can I combine a couple days as long as its been refrigerated? I guess I just was wondering if I am stuck pasturizing a cup or two at a time? And even then, can I combine the already pasteurized milk from the morning and evening or the two days?

Thank you, Deborah. I kinda thought that, but wanted to get some insight from others. I know I have been told that certain things done in commercial plants we aren't supposed to do at home, like canning dairy based products like Alfredo sauce. Anywho, thanks again!
There is no time limit on when you can pasteurize the milk. Commercial milk is often picked up from smaller dairies every other day and then taken to the bottling plant for pasteurization, so yes, you can combine milk from different milkings and pasteurize it all at once.
