Brandi was uddered and had no ligaments this AM before I went to work. I didn't have much to do so I figured I would probably be able to do it and get back before the action happened. She didn't have any mucus at all, ate her grain and went out to the pen like everything was fine. As I left for work I noticed she was hangin' in the house, so I told David to keep an eye on her, and left.
Less than an hour later David called me to say that he heard kids whining inside the goat house. I came home to find Brandi standing outside and David with 3 wet kids in the house. We scooped them up and brought them into the porch. It took Brandi a while to warm up to the kids. She didn't want to stand and nurse them. David told me later that one of the dogs scared her out of the goat house and was licking the babies.
It took about an hour to get every one dried off and nursing well. David holding Brandi and me getting babies to nurse...sucking on the right things. But everyone is healthy and happy. Will keep them up there the rest of the day Let Brandi go out in the morning .
I am so glad there were no emergencies because all the colostrum I had saved up was lost when the freezer went out in August. I milked out a bit of Day 1 colostrum from Brandi while she ate some grain. I'm going to continue to get a little every day from her and hopefully if I ever do have an emergency like I did LAST season, I will have it on hand. Moses has the moon spots, Joshua in the middle, and Aaron is nursing.

Moses is the one who threw my other name ideas out the window... He's my favorite! I hope he sells he is way too pretty to be wasted as a meat wether.
